The new café was the result of a rearrangement of the entire entrance, bookshop and café area into a more fluid sequence of rooms. Two elements—a wooden box for the kitchen and a free-standing wall—support the original spatial logic of Bonniers Konsthall, where internal movement is guided along the fully glazed façades.

The addition of a ceiling grid featuring the Alma pendant lamp (ThamVidegård’s design for Wästberg) underscores the impression of a coherent space that is open through the building’s cross-section, revealing long views towards Kungsholmen in the south and inviting in the greenery of Vasaparken.

The choice of solid ash wood complements the building’s restrained material palette of exposed concrete, aluminium and glass. The communal wooden tables and benches are custom-made to ThamVidegård’s design.
