ThamVidegård designed a series of Gateau shops in Stockholm, Malmö/Lund and Helsinki. The interiors are built entirely of Carrara marble and feature the Top lamp, designed by ThamVidegård and manufactured by Zero.
Gateau was founded by real bakers—families who have worked with bread and pastry since the 1940s. The use of Carrara marble, a recognisable material historically associated with bakeries, cafés and restaurant environments, communicates this heritage and has been transformed for a contemporary spatial context to create an almost monochrome environment.
This provides a coherent backdrop, allowing the products to stand out through their own forms and colours. Each shop also features the ThamVidegård hexagonal Carrara marble tables, which are available in various heights and sizes.
